AGEHR area 5 Festival

Well I had fun this weekend... I left on Friday to go to Greencastle Indiana for a Bell Festival. for those who don't know what they are - It's usually is a large Massed chior of handbell ringers, usually around 500 or more people and a good 60-100 chiors with well over a couple million in bronze and aluminum on the tables, this time it was 20 chiors and 150 people... that's the sad part. They didn't offer any unusual classes and the college that we were at has a large Carilon that apperntly isn't in use any more but the last time I went about 12 years ago they offered classes on playing it. That's what I was looking forward to learning this time. The only remarkable thing that happend that this professional chior called the Raliegh Ringers where there and they played a concert and taught the classes. I never thought a chior could play Flight of the Bumblebee let alone Free Bird or Pinball wizard. it was really neat. but the intire time we were there I started thinking about the music that my Chior plays, it's really to easy for me anymore and it's not a chalange for me. I was hopeing to find a higher dificulty group in the area too that may let me play too but there isn't one I guess. oh well. But yea this weekend was fun Stayed up late got up early and all, we got home last night around midnight and I crashed pretty quickly. then I woke up this morning and remebered that I had an appointment in Findlay so I went (an hour late) and got back then Crashed agian.... don't know WHY I've been soooooo tired hopefully it'll go away soon.

Depressed as all get out

Will my bad week(s) ever end?? Last tuesday I had a meeting with my boss and the temp agency, it didn't go very well. my boss said that they wern't going to pay the temp agency for my time the week before because I made a mistake on a job.... it was a total of 9 1/2 hours and more then 81 dollars, this number is important. Talked to be about other things too, my cloths (yea right I'm going to iron every ratty t-shirt I own when I'm working in a factory in the summer it won't make any diffrence in how it looks by the time I get to a plant any way) after we finished talking with the temp agency people my boss and I went to work on the corrective action paper work, I'm not really suposed to see it untill it's filled out and I'm suposed to sign it, but noooo I had to fill it out for her and I found out that they lost 7 dollars on my job. 7 DOLLARS!!!!!! and that was only if they paid me. After we finished up I went home and started to think my boss said that it was up to the temp people to deside to pay me, well last time they left that desision to them they took my Vacation time and refused me my back holiday pay so I desided to quit... I went to talk to the people at the temp agency they said they would go ahead and pay me for the hours and I told them that I didn't want to work for PSA anymore but that I was trying to get a hold of someone in the office in michagian so I would actually quit the next day........... so no I'm now unemployed. I'm stll pissed about the 7 dollars thing as I lost more then 1000 dollars over the last year because of them not paying for drive time and mileage.

Then... my dad calls me on tuesday and tells me that my grandpa's surgery that I thought was in july is now well today. so I made the plans to go to indiana to be there when he went under. well I called to tell her I was comeing and she called me back about a half an hour later to tell me not to come. I was under the impression from my dad that she wanted me there but apparently that wasn't true. my dad is comeing though on wednesday I'm hopeing he'll stop here but doubt it. oh well that it for now

found this on my mud. thanks Theomid!

Theomid: The importance of being a horse's rear
Mon May 23 14:16:36 2005
To: discussion
The US standard railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet,
8.5 inches. That's an exceedingly odd number.

Why was that gauge used? Because that's the way they built them in England,
and English expatriates built the US Railroads.

Why did the English build them like that? Because the first rail lines were
built by the same people who built the pre-railroad tramways, and that's the
gauge they used.

Why did "they" use that gauge then? Because the people who built the
tramways used the same jigs and tools that they used for building wagons,
which used that wheel spacing!

Why did the wagons have that particular odd wheel spacing? Well, if they
tried to use any other spacing, the wagon wheels would break on some of
the old, long distance roads in England, because that's the spacing of
the wheel ruts.

So who built those old rutted roads? Imperial Rome built the first long
distance roads in Europe (and England) for their legions. The roads have
been used ever since.

And the ruts in the roads? Roman war chariots formed the initial ruts,
which everyone else had to match for fear of destroying their wagon wheels.
Since the chariots were made for Imperial Rome, they were all alike in the
matter of wheel spacing. The United States standard railroad gauge of
4 feet, 8.5 inches is derived from the original specifications for an
Imperial Roman war chariot. So the next time you are handed a spec and told
we have always done it that way and wonder what horse's rear came up with
that, you may be exactly right, because the Imperial Roman war chariots were
made just wide enough to accommodate the hind ends of two war horses.

Now the twist to the story... When you see a Space Shuttle sitting on its
launch pad, there are two big booster rockets attached to the sides of the
main fuel tank. These are solid rocket boosters, or SRBs. The SRBs are
made by Thiokol at their factory in Utah. The engineers who designed the
SRBs wanted to make them a quite bit larger around, but the SRBs had to be
shipped by train from the factory to the launch site. The railroad line
from the factory happens to run through a tunnel in the mountains. The SRBs
had to fit through that tunnel. The tunnel is slightly wider than the track,
and the railroad track, as you now know, is about as wide as two horses'
rears. So, a major Space Shuttle design feature of what is arguably the
world's most advanced transportation system was determined over two
thousand years ago by the width of a Horse's Rear.

And you thought being a Horse's Rear wasn't important??

That is all. Drive through.

update

Well I didn't loose my job amazingly, they demoted me and fired my mom, although the demotion didn't last long because they needed a supervisor agian. the other 2 lost thier cars due to malfunctions. and I got my work phone back. they're going to close the office in town now which is a bummer but it costs them more then it's worth. right before my last post I took in a cat for a friend. she had kittens yesterday afternoon. 4 of them black orange grey and blonde or light orange. they're cute!! :) I've also taken in a dog for her ex-boyfriend his name is george and he's a cutie too. I'm not able to keep either but I'm glad to help out while I can.

that's it

so....

It looks like I'm looseing the job that I've had for a year and a half now.... though I really didn't do anything, but I'm probibly going to get Fired anyway.

I worked 3rd shift last night I've been working some weird hours sence we started up agian so I've been tired alot lately and so had my mom. she's not been feeling well so when her feet started to hurt she sat on the floor... I didn't think anything of it she's done it before and we never had a problem, but the superentendant of the plant saw it and told my boss that I was sleeping on the floor, I'd had enough caffeen to jazz a Sloth last night so I knew that wasn't true, but she had sat down and I told him that. the only time I ever sat was to see something about the boxes and then I got up quickly... I was never on the floor except to read numbers off a box and to put red dots on the labels. Well it looks like if I don't get fired I won't be working in this plant anymore which means I won't be working as much as I have in the past and I'll be looking for a new job anyway. I think I'll go to Fremont and apply at Holland to get into Whirlpool now if that doesn't work my last resort is all I have left, that's to go to my dad's and try for some jobs there. I really hope I don't get fired..... I love my job alot even though it tends to wear on me when I"m tired.

Well I Guess

I was just serfing today and found this

You Are 25 Years Old

25

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

thought that was weird but oh well... my birtday only being a couple weeks ago.

went to hang out with a friend today, she had her kids this weekend and one is trying to raise 200 dollars for jumprope for heart he made more then 70 today if he does the rest tomorrow he'll have it, his dad won't let him do it at home. but he found a friend that I hadn't seen in almost a year. so good day for the most part
